On November 8–9, 2025, the first International Symposium on Cutting-Edge Fire Science and Technology, co-hosted by the China Fire Protection Association, the National Key Laboratory of Fire Safety at the University of Science and Technology of China, and the National–Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Thermal Safety Technology (Anhui), was successfully held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. The conference was co-chaired by six distinguished experts: Academician Fan Weicheng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Yuan Liang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Chow Yun‑Kee of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering, Academician Wu Minghong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Fellow Jennifer X. Wen of the Royal Academy of Engineering. The event brought together numerous leading authorities from fire research institutes under the Ministry of Emergency Management, renowned domestic and international universities, and industry‑leading enterprises. The symposium featured 16 cutting-edge thematic sessions covering areas such as high-rise building fire prevention and control, fire dynamics, and AI‑enabled fire safety, with in-depth discussions on a wide range of key technologies in the field of fire suppression.
