On January 25, leading experts in the field of national emergency rescue and representatives from the China Fire Rescue Academy visited Weihang Technology to co‑host a review meeting on the research plan for high‑rise fire‑fighting tactics and operational procedures. The meeting was chaired by Wu Zhiqiang, a member of the Emergency Rescue Expert Group of the State Council Work Safety Committee, a member of the Ministry of Emergency Management’s Firefighting and Rescue Expert Group, and former Director of the Beijing Fire Department. Joining him as reviewing experts were Leng Li, former Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security; Zhang Zhiming, former Deputy Commander of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Fire Brigade; and Lai Xubin, Director of the Command Division of the Guangzhou Municipal Emergency Management Bureau. Also in attendance was Ji Renxin, Director of the Key Laboratory for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle–Based Emergency Rescue Technology at the Ministry of Emergency Management, along with other faculty members representing the China Fire Rescue Academy.

At the meeting, Li Ye, Chairman and CEO of Weihang Technology, highlighted the company’s independently developed “Aoqin” high‑altitude tethered main‑battle fire‑fighting drone system equipped with a ducted fan, along with the relevant cooperation framework. Director Ji Renxin then presented a detailed report on the research plan for advanced fire‑fighting tactics and operational procedures. The report noted that this study… The core lies in establishing a combat effectiveness indicator system grounded in real-world operational procedures. Starting with an analysis of the fire characteristics of high-rise buildings, we have developed operational‑effectiveness metrics that integrate static and dynamic factors within the “Aoqin” system. We conducted both specialized and comprehensive scenario tests, while also designing UAV‑compatible fire‑water supply chains and formation configurations. Building on an integrated “mission–tactic–method” framework, we have produced a replicable operations manual, thereby comprehensively enhancing the capability of unmanned aerial vehicles to serve as primary firefighting assets in high-rise building fires. After carefully reviewing the report, the participating experts highly commended the technical approach and the applied research, while offering valuable recommendations on tactical integration and real-world operational applications. Following deliberation, the expert panel unanimously approved the proposal, bringing this review meeting to a successful conclusion.

The successful conclusion of this review meeting marks a significant milestone in Weihang’s efforts to advance collaborative innovation under the “industry‑university‑research‑application” framework. Taking this as an opportunity, we will continue to foster the deep integration of cutting-edge drone technologies with real‑world firefighting needs, jointly tackle key technical challenges in high‑rise emergency rescue, and accelerate the translation of innovative breakthroughs into operational capabilities, thereby contributing robust scientific and technological support to the development of a safer, smarter urban public safety system.
